The
Z-folded plasma tube is comprised of two equal RF module. Each module is made of one pair of aluminium
electrodes and ground spacers that form the square bore of 5.7 mm. They are
sandwiched in an extruded aluminium housing which provides mechanical support,
vacuum seal and interface for RF feedthrough, laser beam output,and
cooling.Both ends of the housing are weld-seal.
The optical
resonator consist of three reflectors each with 5 meters radius of curvature
and a flat ZnSe output coupler with a
reflectivity of 65%.
The bore
size in conjunction with the mirror curvature selected, limits the output beam
to TEM 00.
