On November 7th of 2014, on the famous Circuit Paul
Ricard located at Le Castellet in South of France, François Gissy has reached
an incredible speed of 333 km/h on the rocket-propelled bicycle designed by his
friend Arnold Neracher. More than 200 mph on a skinny and completely stripped
bicycle, this is amazing, and crazy! Who thought that one day a daredevil on a
bicycle, with a rocket under the saddle, could travel the quarter mile in only
6.2 seconds? Data of the fastest run set on 7 November 2014: Peak speed: 333 km/h (207 mph) attained after around 250 meters Quarter mile elapsed time: 6.2 seconds Thrust of the rocket engine: 4.2 kN (428 kgf) 0 to 100 km/h in 1.1 second 0 to 200 km/h in 2.4 seconds 0 to 300 km/h in 4.1 seconds 0 to 333 km/h in 4.8 seconds Peak acceleration: 3.1 G's
Peak deceleration (due to the drag): -1.5 G
